Renaissance Yoga Studio sponsors a meditation group, the Susquehanna Valley Sangha, which meets weekly at the studio. The group was formed with the intention of studying and practicing mindful living, as taught by the Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, author of Peace in Every Step, The Miracle of Mindfulness, and many other well-loved books. The sangha meets on Sunday evenings, from 7:00 to 9:00pm, in order to share sitting meditation, walking meditation, sutra readings, and dharma discussion, all in the style of Plum Village, the practice center established by Thich Nhat Hanh in France.

The sangha welcomes those who are new to meditation practice, as well as those with an established practice. Because each session begins with a guided sitting meditation, it is important that all participants plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early, so that everyone will be prepared to settle into silence by 7:00pm. While meditation cushions and chairs are available at the studio, please feel free to bring your own cushion or bench, if you so desire.

While there is no charge for participation in the sangha, the group does make contributions to Renaissance Yoga Studio, in order to cover the cost of their hospitality. Consequently, any donation you wish to make will be appreciated. There is also a sign-in book present at each session, in order to keep a record of those who are in attendance.
